A cross connect is a physical cable in a data centre that connects two different end points. It provide connectivity between your data centre and external environments.

These cables can be made from coaxial, fiber or sometimes copper, and because they transfer data point-to-point, they avoid the latency or congestion issues which can be faced through the internet.
